Herman 'in the' Hauser

Britain's greatest hi-tech venture capitalist came to give a talk at Cambridge last night, about the importance of vision when starting a business.

Herman's a little like an older version of James Bond. He's the one in the middle of the picture. As someone remarked "Of course, I feel anyone with a cravat must be inherently interesting".

Herman's tips for priorities when starting a business:
1. The product is in a growing market, as this kind of market is more forgiving
2. The quality and experience of the management team behind the venture
3. The technology
4. The business model; actually more complicated than people assume
5. The finance; if the idea's good, the money will follow

All in all a great evening, organised by the Center for Entrepreneurial Learning. I even got to speak to he great man afterwards!

What Time Do You Call This?

Yes, it's 12:40 am and I'm still at the Judge with my team working on a marketing project.

I leave the house before my flatmates wake up and now return after the go to bed it seems.

I get the feeling there will be a lot more of this. Need to get up in 6 and a half hours.

Strange thing is, I'm still WIRED!!!!! This rocks!

As an aside, am I allowed to say that I actually enjoyed finance today? Three case studies, and after the full morning prep'ing, I and my case partner Calum seemed to handle them pretty well. What's going on?? Whatever it is, I hope I can keep it up; it's the first time I've really felt on top of things in this class.
